How should the drill pipe be maintained after use?

After the drilling operation is completed, the drill tools are neatly placed on the drill pipe rack according to different specifications, wall thickness, water hole size, steel grade and classification grade, need to rinse ,blow dry the inner and outer surfaces of the drill tool, joint threads, and shoulder sealing surfaces with clean water in time. Check whether there are cracks and nicks on the drill pipe surface, whether the thread is intact, whether there is partial wear of the joint, whether the shoulder surface is smooth and there is no abrasion, whether the pipe body is bent and squeezing bite, whether there is corrosion and pitting on the inside and outside surface of the drill pipe.

If conditions permit, ultrasonic inspection should be carried out on the drill pipe body from time to time, and magnetic particle inspection should be carried out on the thread part to reduce the probability of failure accidents such as joint thread breakage , drill pipe body puncture and leakage. There is no problem with drilling tools to apply anti-rust oil on the thread and shoulder sealing surface, wear a good guard, and do a good job of various protective measures.

On the drilling site, the drill pipe with problems should be marked with paint and stored separately to prevent misuse. And timely repair and replacement of the drill pipe problems, so as not to affect the later construction operations. For the drill pipe that is not used in the open air for a long time, it is necessary to cover it with rain proof tarpaulin, and regularly check the corrosion of the inner and outer surfaces of the drill pipe, so as to do a good job of moisture-proof and anti-corrosion.
